COPA, in partnership with the S.A.G.E Gallery, is proud to announce Call for Entries: "Portrait of The Self" Contemporary Photography Open Call an exhibition taking place on 27 October - 17 November, 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Explore the essence of self-expression through the lens of contemporary photography in our exciting open call, "Portrait of The Self." This unique opportunity invites photographers from all backgrounds to capture the multifaceted dimensions of their own identity and share their personal narratives with the world.

About the Open Call:

In an era defined by self-discovery and self-expression, we invite photographers to delve into the intimate and intricate facets of the self. "Portrait of The Self" challenges artists to go beyond the surface and create thought-provoking, evocative, and innovative photographic works that reflect their individuality, experiences, and emotions.

***You may submit a project up to 10 images with no entry fee, however, entrants are not guaranteed inclusion in the exhibition by submitting an entry. Depending on the number and the quality of the entries received, the work of an entrant may or may not be curated into the show.

Submission Guidelines:

• Photographic Medium: We welcome submissions in all forms of contemporary photography, including but not limited to digital, film, collage, and experimental processes.

• Artistic Interpretation: Artists are encouraged to interpret the concept of self-portraiture broadly. Your submission could be a traditional self-portrait, an abstract representation of your inner world, or an exploration of identity through other subjects or objects.

• Narrative: Alongside your image(s), provide a brief artist statement (max. 300 words) explaining your creative process, the concept behind your work, and how it relates to the theme of "Portrait of The Self."

• Eligibility: This open call is open to emerging and established photographers of all backgrounds and nationalities. We encourage diverse perspectives and experiences.

• Entry Fee: There is no entry fee

Printing for Selected Artists:

Selected artists for our exhibition will have their work transformed into 𝐆𝐢𝐜𝐥é 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭, a prestigious fine art printing process, by a renowned professional printing house in Thailand, proudly certified by ILFORD. As a non-profit organization with limited financial resources, we regret that we cannot cover the production costs associated with this transformation. Hence, participating artists will be kindly requested to cover the exhibition production fee, which includes the costs of printing, mounting, framing and the expert installation of their cherished artwork.

The exhibition production fee is determined with an artist-friendly approach based on the longer side of your artwork:

• For artwork with a longer side of up to 17 inches: $25.

• For artwork with a longer side of up to 24 inches: $50.

Please take note that these fees are exclusively dedicated to facilitating the professional printing of your artwork on the highest-quality materials, ensuring that your creations receive the meticulous care and precision they deserve during the printing process.

Wherever the photographs are presented, the artist's name and photo title will always be included.
